Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right light fixture for my space?
Start with the room, the area you want to illuminate, and the size of the furniture or surface nearby. For dining tables, kitchen islands, bedside tables, entryways, or reading corners, choose a fixture that feels balanced with the surrounding furniture rather than simply centering it in the room. Always check the product dimensions, shade size, and overall height before ordering.
What color temperature works best for home lighting?
Warm white light is usually the most comfortable choice for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, and cozy spaces. A color temperature around 2700K-3000K creates a soft and relaxing atmosphere, while 3000K-3500K can work well for kitchens, bathrooms, home offices, or areas where clearer task lighting is needed.
What should I check before installation?
Before installation, confirm the fixture size, voltage, bulb base, maximum wattage, mounting method, cord or rod length, and whether the fixture is suitable for the intended location. For ceiling or wall-mounted lights, make sure the electrical box and mounting surface can support the fixture securely. Hardwired fixtures should be installed by a qualified electrician according to local electrical codes.
Can lighting products be used in different rooms?
Yes, many lighting fixtures can work across multiple rooms depending on their size, brightness, material, and style. A decorative lamp can add warmth to a bedroom, living room, hallway, dining area, or reading nook. For bathrooms, outdoor areas, or humid spaces, always check whether the product is rated for dry, damp, or wet locations before use.
How should I clean and care for a light fixture?
Turn off the power and allow the bulb and fixture to cool completely before cleaning. Use a soft, clean, dry cloth or brush for regular dusting. Avoid spraying liquid directly onto the fixture, and keep moisture away from electrical parts, joints, and adhesives. Do not use abrasive pads, bleach, ammonia, alcohol, acids, solvents, or harsh cleaners. For glass, fabric, wood, metal, or other specialty materials, follow the product-specific care instructions whenever available.
