The shade is the light.
A softer beam
Silk and linen scatter the bulb instead of throwing a hard pool. Lunaveo’s layered silk and Nelson’s silk-coated frame both stay light in the room. Softlume’s knitted cloth is listed as a gentle, low-glare shade.
Texture, up close
Pleats, velvet pile, a visible weave and layered petals still read when the light is off. That is the point of Luvora’s tailored shade, the Hour Rho velvet, and Valoflor’s floral ceiling light.
A quiet frame
Brass, walnut, antique bronze, gold and polished nickel hold the shade. The Lantern pairs fabric with wood and metal. Piaf uses steel and wood under crisp linen. The cloth stays the reason you notice it.

The cloth
Linen and cotton-linen stay pale in daylight and warm the beam at night. Silk and lighter blends read as a softer cloud. Velvet holds colour and quiets the light. Woven, pleated and printed cloth make the textile itself the pattern. Choose the cloth for the room, then let brass, iron or wood stay as the frame.
The place
Match the centimetres on the product page to the zone underneath, not to the photograph. A dining shade should sit inside the table and leave a view across it. A flush or semi-flush suits a lower ceiling. A wall light should clear a hallway. A floor or table lamp needs a corner that is not a walkway. Where several sizes are listed, pick the one for that spot.
The bulb
Bulbs are not included unless that product page says so. Check the base — E27 and E14 both appear in this series — and stay inside the listed wattage. A warm LED flatters cloth. A very bright bare bulb can show the fitting through a thin shade. Dimming is not standard across the series. Treat a light as dimmable only when that model says so, and use a compatible bulb and switch.
The fitting
Ceiling and wall lights here are generally hardwired. Table and floor lamps plug in. Read the canopy, cord and drop on the product page before you arrange fitting, and keep these shades in dry indoor rooms — not a bathroom, and not outdoors. Dust linen, velvet and woven cloth with a soft dry cloth. Do not wash or soak a shade.

A cloth shade — linen, silk, velvet, woven or floral fabric — held by metal or wood. This edit includes pendants, wall lights, ceiling lights and one swing-arm table lamp. It is for dry indoor rooms, not a wet bathroom or an outdoor fitting.
Linen and linen-blend shades, such as Luvora, Derlina, Lumeris and Piaf, read tailored and warm. Silk, on Lunaveo and the Nelson bubble, is lighter and more cloud-like. Velvet, on the Hour Rho chandelier, has a denser colour. Woven or knitted cloth, on Softlume, the Hour Rho wall lamp and the Lantern, shows the textile itself.
Dining, living, bedroom, hallway and a reading corner. Match the listed size to the table, wall or ceiling underneath, not to the whole house. None of these pages lists a bathroom or outdoor rating, so keep them in dry rooms.
Use the centimetre measurements on the product page. A dining pendant should sit inside the table edge and high enough to talk across. Lumeris at 33 cm is a low ceiling profile. Derlina’s linked head is 12.7 cm; Luvora’s linked shade is 25 cm. Piaf’s linked 2-light option is Ø 157 cm — that width needs a real measurement before you order.
Not as a series rule. The Lantern page says the bulb is not included and lists E27. Softlume lists E27, bulbs not included, and dimmable: no. The Hour Rho chandelier lists an E12/E14 socket and a hardwired ceiling fit. Read the bulb base, wattage and dimming line for the exact model before you buy a bulb or a dimmer.
Ceiling and wall lights should be installed to local electrical rules, usually by a qualified person. The Bauhaus piece is a table lamp with a swing arm, not a ceiling fitting. The shipping policy also asks you not to schedule an electrician from the website stock label. Wait until the fitting arrives.
Dust with a soft dry cloth. Do not soak a fabric, silk or velvet shade, and skip abrasives or harsh cleaners. If the product page gives a more specific care note, follow that note rather than a general habit.
Treat the photographs as a close guide. Fabric texture, velvet colour and brass tone can shift with your screen and the light in the room. The Hour Rho chandelier is listed in green, red and white. The bedroom photograph on this page shows the red version; the linked option is green.
The published shipping policy says the site supports delivery in EU countries, and that other destinations need a direct enquiry.
